Titan TTB579PLN 204mm Planer Thicknesser 230V
Just bought a Titan planer/thicknesser, easy to assemble, used it only twice and I love how simple it is to use, would definitely reccomend this machine. Not had it long enough to comment on reliability but seeing how easy it is to use, if you do not overwork it I can see it being very reliable.

Excellent Value for money
My 22 years old Italian Combination Machine recently broke down with a burnt out motor after doing a lot of work over the years, leaving me needing a planer thicknesser very quickly to complete a current project - a wooden bodied old-fashioned pedal car for my youngest Grandson. I saw this Titan machine on the Screwfix website and read the reviews, ordering it late on Sunday evening and delivered on Tuesday Morning. What a fantastic machine for the price - the finish it gives is superb, the waste collection / guarding works brilliantly, especially when connected to my waste collection system and the changeover from Planer to Thicknesser is simple and takes only a few minutes. Excellent value machine .

Well after doing the usual look around and review of other products. This was just what i needed and a great price. Seems to have a few issues with the fence, as found on youtube and other reviews. But I have made a fence from a straight length of 2x6 works great. Most impressed with the cut and finish. As set up,from the box. The depth of cut for the thicknesser was not bad. Was set to 25 mm and cut to 25.1mm. Checked with vernier. Placed one piece of wood to the left and another to right of center and cuts square.
only issue is to find spare blades. Few hints on other sites, but did not wish to take blades out as yet, just in case unable to get the Titan set up as is.
On the whole a very well priced machine for the DIYer. Is very heavy 32kg so it don't move when cutting. Hard to mark Reliabilty as only had it a week, but seems very made, apart from the fence.

Money well spent
In receipt of my 1st machine I quickly realised the jointer in/out feed tables were substantially out of parallel...so much in fact that cutter head wouldn't make contact with the work piece once the leading edge was on the out feed table, this was clearly a manufacturing defect as there was no adjustment available to rectify this, Screwfix customer services were extremely courteous and helpful and offered me a refund or exchange, so I thought I would give it another go and opted for a replacement, it arrived the next morning and both tables were parallel and true, the jointer and thicknesser perform very well out of the box with no fettling other than the fence angle stops, if your on a budget then you cant go wrong for the money. I was just unlucky with the 1st machine and the issue was rectified immediately by srewfix
