very good price, fence a bit basic, extractor a bit of a bind as it needs to be in place to operate.fitted a bracket to crown guard to depress micro switch.a lot easier to start as you do not need to fit extractor hood.if you are a novice dont do this,i have used woodworking machines all my life.could do with a fence that moves across the blade to even wear out.as it is,surface plane tight to the fence and thickness on the other side to even wear out.but for £149.99 a good handy little machine.hope i get a lot of use out of it. so far so good.

I've never had one of these before, but I'm impressed with the quality of it. the planing finish is really good, and set-up took about 15 mins.
Some minor niggles with it though. The extractor hood could be easier to secure into place when using the top planer/jointer. 10mm hex nut that isn't the easiest to get to whilst the hood is in place.
Also the outlet for extraction is huge. 100mm, which is fine if you have an industrial extractor, not so good if you only have a shop vac. Would be better if they provided adaptors to reduce this port down.
You cant use the planer unless the hood is attached, so it gets clogged up if you don't have a 100mm extractor pipe.
Other than that, I would say good value for money.
Pro's: Great Value, Good finish, Great price
Con's: Hood attachment fiddly to get too to change, Need adaptor for hood if you don't have a 100mm extractor Pipe, No adaptors in the box.

for the money great, for theDIYer think its on the money to.from the box to the bench well packet with parts to assemble, manual is on opening the box like is, setting up very stright forward manual very clear on instructions(take 15 min and read manual before putting to gether ) i found the top fence on the planer ie 2... 3mm cap screws at the bottem of the fence had come loose and did not fasen up wright...i found the locking washer was not very good i replaced them with a shakeproof washer i had work a lot better as well.one of the things i found was the machine will not work with out the extractor gaurds fitted and you must have a vacum to extract the shaveings to stop clogging up cutter.over all very good for the DIY MAN planes well and thinknesser works well. at the end of the day there all basicly the same and all your paying for is the cutting head ,,this is spot on for the money

I have found this machine to be excellent for what I use it for. As others have said fence is on the flimsy side but can be set with some care.
Only big problem I am having is setting the blades after sharpening them The gauge looks simple to use but doesn't set the blades as standard. they are always lower than they should be. Instructions on the use of the gauge are almost non-existent. has anyone else found out how to use this gauge?
