Rated 5 out of 5 by Good good value shredder Tremendous value. Seems solid and up to the job although I have to date only used it 3 times albeit with a mountain of branches each time. Reasonably quiet too. Cannot think why anybody should want to pay more unless they are a professional gardener. 15 Sep 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic Piece of Kit In life one is always cautious when the cost of an item seems to be too cheap. This was my concern with the Titan shredder. How can it possibly be as good as the more expensive ones on offer ? Well all you kind people who took the time to write a review certainly reassured me it was worth a go. This is without doubt excellent value for money as it simply sailed through it first job, without any stoppages or blockages. It handled everything we had cut down including large hard wooden stemmed shrubs upto 40mm, a mass of ivy from soft green stems and leaves to knotted hard runners & trunk. Simply a joy to use. The only observations on its first outing is the pusher used to feed the machine is not that robust when the throat of the hopper is loaded and needs to be assisted with a piece of stiffer garden material sometimes . Also like some of the other reviews the small fins at the bottom of the outlet can hold back shredded material and this would lead to a blockage if not noted a removed. I have previously used a similar styled shredder from Bosch when helping out a mate & we seemed to spend most of the day unblocking the machine. If you are on a budget & are looking for a shredder just buy this machine & you have got to question why you would pay any more, I for one will certainly be looking at Titan products in a different light. 23 Jul 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good all rounder I recently bought this as we were clearing our garden out and didn't want to spend a fortune on something we would only use a few times. We found it to be a very capable machine and as mentioned in previous reviews it was a lot quieter than expected. Performance wise it coped well with the branches and reeds we were removing chipping them in to fine pieces, the only gripe we had is that it does not handle leaves to well and becomes clogged, on the plus side it is very easy to open to clean it out. 20 Jul 2016

Answer:
Hello,

Removing the blades is covered under "Cutting Blade Replacement" on page 13 of the supplied Safety and Operating Manual (Also available on our website), within this section there is also information on blade replacement, grinding and sharpening.

Hope this helps.

Answer:
Hello DCambs,

The instructions state "The shredder is designed for use for cutting of fibrous and woody garden waste for composting".

Leaves should be fine provided you do not overload the machine by putting to much of a load in at one time so that it jams etc.

Thank you for using Q and A.

Answer:
Hello Clares46,

The instructions for the Titan Electric Garden Shredder say that it is capable of cutting 'fibrous and woody garden waste' up to a maximum diameter of 45mm. So provided the bamboo stalks are less than 45mm thick, this shredder should be capable of cutting through them.

Thank you for using Q&A

Not supplied with the machine. There's no fitting points, no any bag or box will just sit loose. A standard household storage crate will quite easily fit below the output channel - I actually used the crate provided by my local council for waste glass collections...

Hello,

This does not come with a collection bag. You can place a bag or other receptacle at the outlet of the product to collect the debris.

Answer:
No. It's a rotating impact shredding blade - i.e. a disc with razor blades mounted in gaps. It works on solid material - tree branches, etc, and needs constant pressure applying to feed them through. If you tried to shred tapes they will just wrap around the disc and jam the whole thing up. You'll need a heavy duty office shredder for destroying storage tapes, which use rollers to grind the material up.
