Rated 5 out of 5Â by incompetent Good good value shredder
Tremendous value. Seems solid and up to the job although I have to date only used it 3 times albeit with a mountain of branches each time. Reasonably quiet too. Cannot think why anybody should want to pay more unless they are a professional gardener.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Gerry2 Good value domestic shredder
Only used one but it went through a pile of branches quickly and without blocking. Needs branches to be pressed down more than some shredders - but cuts wood up into really small pieces. Good deal overall

Rated 5 out of 5Â by seedaseer A sturdy garden shredder
I've just used this for the first time so can't comment on long term reliability, but I don't expect any problems. It is a sturdy garden shredder which performs very well - even on thicker stems, up to 45mm. After three trees were heavily pruned (pear, cherry and apple) I have a garden full of branches. The thicker logs were taken by a neighbour who does carving. This will save money over hiring since it should continue in use when my privet hedges are trimmed as well as clearing my current piles of twigs and branches. I'm pleased with a good buy.
Mind you I would have liked a reverse button.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by JohnnyK pretty good for the price
I have had this shredder for over a year and it has been used pretty regularly. It can clog up quite a lot depending on what you are trying to shred and things with lots of leaves or needles won't go through. It can't cope with Christmas tree branches for example and has struggled with yew tree branches. I have had to strip off the leaves to then shred the branches which can be frustrating. There are 'teeth' at the bottom of the chute, which seem pointless as they just make it clog up more.
My shredder broke after just over a year so the two yr manufacturers guarantee has certainly come in handy. I am waiting for delivery of my new one any day. No quibbling from screwfix at all so fair play to them.
Although it looks like I am being quite negative, I would still definitely rate the shredder for small to medium sized gardens and amateur gardeners. Apart from the exceptions above, it has happily munched it's way through several large shrubs/trees so that it can be easily composted or taken to the tip. I was offered a refund for my broken shredder but didn't hesitate to get a replacement. It is a good bit of kit but does have its limitations.
