Hello Craw. Ah ratings, (i.e. 1.3 Ah, 2.0Ah, 5.0Ah) are a measurement of how long a fully battery lasts. Whether a higher rating is 'better' or not depends on what the tool is being used for. Some people might prefer the biggest battery available because length of charge is most important. Someone else may see weight as the main consideration and the higher the Ah rating the heavier / bigger the battery and choose the lower Ah rating. Hope that helps.

Answer: 
ah is how long a battery takes to discharge. 1.3 is the lowest and 5 ah is the highest for drills. There is little difference between ah 1.3 and ah 2.The higher the voltage the more power there is available

Answer: 
To clarify my first answer ah means amp/hours so 1.3 ah will discharge sooner than 5 ah for example. 1.3 ah is adequate for many DIY applications and for extended use consider a spare battery.

To extend my previous answer , regarding hard materials, Screwfix states in there specifications that this drill has the capacity of "13mm in masonry".hope this helps.

Answer: 
For concrete a sds drill is the best option. This drill will tackle some hard materials as it has a hammer action and is 18v.
