Easy to fit to existing pipes to replace old shower mixer, only used it a couple of times, but it seems OK.

I bought this to replace an old electric shower, I am waiting for someone to fit it for me. If it works like the caravan one it will be brilliant. Will let you know as soon as it is fitted.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Carpenterbri Good bar shower but....
when I got this bar shower home and unboxed it there were no instructions included! No problem I thought looks self explanatory so I didn't think nothing else about it. However....
I purchased the separate fitting kit to aid installation as I have done for different makes of bar showers but for some reason this one did not make a good seal and leaked! Took it off numerous times only to discover that the back nuts did not make a good enough seal and the filter washers where of poor quality and certainly did not seal against the inlet pipes? I had to strip it down and check the o rings then fit secondary washers to the back nuts then throw away the useless filter washers. Re-fit and guess what it worked! I should have taken it back but sadly I didn't have the time so I thought I'd just persevere! Would have been quicker in the long run to take it back! I think mine must have been someone else's returned item after they discovered the same fault but they took theirs back and I got it! Saying all that maybe it just wasn't compatible with the separate fixing kit? But why wouldn't it be? Surely they are universal? Or maybe not. Best to check the seal before finally committing to the fit.
After 'fixing' it would I buy it again.... Yes but I'd make sure it hadn't been opened before hand and everything was in the box! The unit looks good operates on a 2 bar pump great. Very easy operation. Happy apart from the initial problem. Reliable....only time will tell.

This product is great value, IF...
If you've had one before and are replacing it then it's fine, otherwise there's a good chance it won't fit. The inlet connectors are unusual and won't fit to standard through-wall pipework, sitting proud by a good 5mm and would need to be fixed by less than half a turn on the nut and with no sealing washer fitted.
In other words, if you have standard pipework, get a standard shower mixer bar.
That said, the shop staff were fantastic and offered a refund or exchange immediately - I've upgraded to a Triton model which fits perfectly and for not much more money.
