Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Ever Coving ! As a retired decorator with over 40 years work experience I've put up thousands of feet of gyproc in my time and I can honestly say this is the easiest, lightest and most convenient coving ever. Supplied with 4 tubes of adhesive for 12 x 2m lengths (more than enough) this is very good value indeed. Hardly any mess, this stuff is a pleasure to put up. Highly recommended. 13 Sep 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Rewarding Never having put coving up before it was daunting to begin with, did the corners first gradually gaining confidence. By the end I was quite gung-ho and with help from my wife we made a pretty good job of a 17x12 foot room. Really good product even for novices. 12 Sep 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by So simple to fit I loved this product, I am not a natural at installing coving, so this being so lightweight and easy to cut made it a breeze to fit and looks great on the wall. The adhesive supplied has good grab and is good for filling the gaps along the wall and to the ceiling, but my tip is to keep it off of the cove face and corner joins because it does not take paint well (crazing) and is difficult to sand back and can cause the paper face to tear if not careful. I used Ronseal 5 minute smooth filler on the face joints instead and achieved great and seamless looking results. 1 Aug 2016

Answer:
I don't know for sure, but as it is made from polyurethane and paper, I would say that it isn't likely to be fireproof. I don't recall seeing any fire ratings or warnings on the packaging.

Answer:
Yes, it has a paper covering. It takes a lot of paint though and I found it helpful to coat it in watered-down PVA solution to seal it. 1 part PVA to 5 parts water.

Answer:
I used a DIY mitre template (£3.99 from a competitor) which was good and easy, but the Screwfix (ForgeSteel) mitre box may make it even easier. I have a lot more to do now that I have the bug for installing it, so I may splash out on a coving mitre box (don't use an ordinary mitre box, you will get the wrong angles at the joins). I also used a 15TPI saw, but it cuts easily with a knife. I'd say not to use a hacksaw, as it may be difficult to maintain the angle of the cut (which is fairly critical). You could use the pre-formed corners, although you will end up with two butt joints instead of scarf joints. Butt joints are more difficult to disguise.

Answer:
As far as I could tell, it doesn't matter. The finish is the same and the coving profile is symmetrical. The only thing to watch is that you use your cutting template correctly.
