Stanley ST-50-GFA-E Black/Yellow LPG Fan Heater 16.1kW
Poor quality control
" Not stocked in store, Stanley LPG space heater looks like the unit to do the job.
Opening the box, I found the finger guard was broken. This would not have bothered me as a piece of copper wire was available to fix this. I returned the unit, because the heater would not stay on even after gently releasing the tap, regardless of how long you physically hold the tap in the position 'low ignite'. I did discover that if you hold the tap in with a quick clamp; then after 20 min it does stay lit.
As this is a problem that others have experienced, I looking for my money back. " Screwfix doesn't have a different manufacturer. So, I will be looking elsewhere for a more reliable unit.

Excellent heat production for a relatively small sized unit. Easy to use with three heat settings it does the job I want it to.

Warms up garage nicely
I was going to get an electric heater but decided that I needed a bit more power.
Went for this as it was the best value for what it does. The cheaper version is not as controllable.
Run it for 5-10 mins and the double garage was much warmer, it initially was few degrees but the heater warms the air nicely and made it possible to work. Unfortunately the air cools down in a short time so I need to run it say 5-10 mins every 30-40 mins or so. Obviously a better insulated garage would help.
I'm not sure how long the gas will last so I only run it the minimum to take the chill out.
Although it says LPG I found that LPG is a generic term and it's propane it uses. I got a Calor bottle which is is similar costs to others over the lifetime of using it and there are more outlets.
Definitely recommend this.

Deceptively powerful for its size, the three settings allowing flexibility. Small, compact, easy to use and effective.
