Stanley FatMax SCL Cross Line Laser
The product looks great. The attachments and carry case make you excited to use the product but unfortunately the laser is very poor and no better than stanleys cheaper models. Maybe under perfect conditions it would be acceptable but with any natural daylight forget it. Sorry to take it back but £150 is £150

Not sure why you would buy one
I was excited at the prospect of using my new laser level instead of borrowing my brothers dewalt one. Everyone one on site also impressed at the brand new tool but then joined me in disappointment at the uselessness of the three brackets that come with it. A large tripod is the only way to use this tool in a domestic environment ( currently re fitting kitchens) but is not practical as it takes up so much room and can be easily knocked or moved by others. The lock is a useful function but a chalk line or string is cheaper. The gap between the bracket and case could have been larger to make swiveling easier.... Overall..... Frustrated but will persist until I find an easier and quicker way to use.

Only buy if skint
Seriously, this is a good bit of kit, BUT.......
spent the extra £30 and buy the Dewalt laser if tou are going to be using this all the time as I do.
The laser isn't very bright on the fat max and if you want to use it outside... forget it!
The good point is that it does have a pendulaum lock so if you want to use it for marking out diaganl tiles it IS VERY usefull, but as already said, I wish I had spent the extra for the DeWalt

Fat Max SCL Cross Line Laser
Very good for interior work extremely easy to use
like the fact it has a lock for the pendulum.
Quite limited for exterior work maybe a range of a few meters, but I have used it successfully outside at night just to mark a levels for the next day. Overall, nice tool for setting up interior work, but very limited outdoor.
