Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wife likes it! I'm not so keen on the look of this but the wife is so on the wall it went. The backplate fixing bolts are loose so when you come to put the front plate on the bolts disappear and you have to start again. A blob of blue tack pressed firmly over each bolt sorts it. The waterproof grommet for the cable is a sloppy fit and falls out easily. There are no slots in the faceplate for a cable so unless your cable is fed from behind through the wall (not many are) you either have to cut your own slot or chase mortar out to get the light to sit flat on the wall. Worth the mess about if you (or your partner :-)) like the design of the light.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from throwaway lamp Most impressed when fitted about a year ago. easily fitted and worked well. One year on and the "stainless steel" is more rust than stainless. Stopped working, and assumed bulb had failed... All three bolts snapped on trying to remove nuts! changed bulb but still didn't work... pir cover had flaked off and presumably let in water... Be aware that these lamps are throwaway if bulb fails as you cannot dismantle!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Light looks great but the sensitivity button does nothing. I have set up next to front door and have 4 metres to public footpath but even on lowest sensitivity theoretically 1 metre it goes off when people walk past really annoying don't buy unless you have half mile long footpath from kerbside.

PIR sensitivity

The sensitivity range on the website suggests 1-8m. but with it set to minimum it is still being triggered when walking past about 6m away. Can it be made less sensitive?

Answer:
Hello Yetidave,

The only way to change the sensitivity is through the dial, if you have done this and it is not working then it may be a faulty unit.

Thank you for using Q & A.

Answer:
Hello AJAJ.

Unfortunately PIR lights are not designed to be overridden, if you require a light where you can just switch on and off you need a light without a PIR.

Thank you for using Q&A.

Answer:
Hello Bombchicka.

The wall light with pir can be tested in day light, you need to cover the photocell with something like tape to make photocell think it is night time, and then pir censor will pick up any movement.

Thank you for using Q&A.

Answer:
Hello Daddikins,

This light features a PIR-based motion detector. They measure infrared light radiating from objects in its field of view and will activate once motion has been detected.

If you are looking for a sensor that reacts to light you would need a Photocell sensor such as Standalone Photocell (11330).

I hope this information helps.

Thank you for using Q and A.
