Sprung Bath Waste
Waste of money
Purchased this as it looked like decent quality..how wrong..most reviews say it leaks and needs sealant. Well I fitted this as instructions to new bath and sure enough it leaked.. Removed it and applied copiousness amount of plumbers mate ...and still leaked..tried to tighten more and broke the plastic nut..to sum up it has too many parts and according to my plumber it is useless ...bought one for half the price elsewhere and job done.can't return this as it's covered in sealant...lesson learned.

Replacement seals would help
I purchased this a couple of years ago, it looks good and was apparently easy to fit. The only problem is the seal on the plug has gone hard and it therefore doesn't hold the bathwater, you can hear it running away whilst in the bath. I would give this product excellent marks if replacement seals could be provided. I've just had to buy a whole new one today, just for the plug, it was either that or have to replace the whole thing with something new. £18.49 for to replace a seal seems rather expensive.

Modern bath waste looks very smart and satisfying to use. Easy to use for elderly without bending down.
Fitted at home. Our own first one needed replacing after a couple of years (sprung catch not holding it down)but with a large family it saw a lot of use.
Wipe a little Fernox LS-X quick cure silicone between each sealing surface and water tight is a virtual given first time.

Difficult to seal
It looks good and works well but is tricky to fit.
Must use sealant above and below hole in bath.
Must use PTFE tape on thread where back-nut fits otherwise water will run through thread.
Use IRWIN Quickgrip or similar clamp to hold bottom of thread whilst tightening nut.
The overflow doesn't project far which is good when used with shower mixer tap.
