Rated 1 out of 5Â by diyJonboy useless fork
This is a fork with great features, comfortable wooden handle and nice shiny stainless tines. Its not the cheapest nor the most expensive. But it is let down because the tines are just too weak, even with the lightest soil it takes very little to bend the tines. The grade of stainless steel used for this fork (and the other items in this range) is clearly poorly selected. Spear and Jackson ought to know how to properly design a fork! In summary absolutely useless for any gardening but OK if you just like looking at your tools.

I ordered this item on Wednesday and collected it on Thursday with the usual Screwfix excellent service.
I had undertaken extensive research in order that I bought a fork which was durable.
However I was completely wrong, as it was first used on Saturday and the handle bent and broke away from the tines after less than 10 digs!
The soil I was digging is hard on the surface but reasonably loose below so this is not heavy work.
Needless to say I will be returning this useless tool tomorrow (Monday) and will question whether the 10 year guarantee should be amended to 10 hours from purchase.

Good value and so far seems strong and sturdy. The Handle is wooden traditional not plastic like my last fork which broke off at the handle.
