Rated 4 out of 5 by Ask me in 20 years It's a bit difficult to say how good it is at preserving wood! I can tell you that it goes on easily with a normal garden sprayer. Don't forget to use a mask and eye protection and a pair of gloves. It absorbs into the wood readily and dries as quickly as you'd expect from a water based product. In another 20 years or so I'll tell you how good it is. It's comparable in price with other DIY stores. 11 Mar 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy to apply wood preserver I bought this to preserve the wood of a new 12 x 10 summerhouse. It is really easy to apply - I used a normal garden pressurised spray. I got one and a half coats out of the 5 litres, so need to collect some more, but it is a large building. No change in colour of the wood and leaves a nice even finish without runs. Recommended. 18 Dec 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good quality product Bought this to varnish a wooden arbour in preparation for harsher climate over winter. Dries quickly - OK to apply an extra coat after 1-2 hours. Used two coats on existing original wood and looks a good job. 28 Sep 2015

Answer:
Not if the paint has covered the wood and therefore prevents the Preservative penetrating or being absorbed.
The preservative needs to be absorbed into the timber for the treatment to provide the protection.

Answer:
Unfortunately we do not do an all in one product but preserving the timber first will be a good place to start. Does the manufacturer recommend a type of paint for the summerhouse?
