Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Hard to say how good a preserve will be unless I wait years. I ordered 2 of these and soaked the external 10x8 shed I had built. no smell and like water soaked in well and the wood kept soaking it up. coated with Ducks back paint after. time will tell if it was worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So simple to apply I purchased this to protect an 8ft x 8ft decking project. Sika isn't the first brand you'd think of for wood preservatives, I thought I'd give it a go based on the quality of other Sika products. It's almost water like in appearance and very low odour. Very easy to apply with a Harris block brush (88264) and 2.5ltr paint scuttle (60087). I gave the timber base and decking two good coats, with extra layers on all cut ends - I still have some left in the 5ltr container. Who knows how well it will last and protect the wood ? Certainly for ease of application and value for money, I'd recommend it !

There will be some protection from one coat but it is a two coat application so its best to apply two. It can be done perhaps over several weekends.

Its best applied externally during dry warm weather as it penetrates the timber better therefore providing better protection.
Avoid damp cold conditions for application.

Answer:
Its difficult to tell because there are so many variables, like how far the treatment penetrated the timber and how exposed the panels are to weathering but it does provide long term protection. We would generally expect a 'minimum' of 2 years in most circumstances.
