Rated 4 out of 5 by Probably as good as anything I have sadly run out of creosote, after stocking up before it was banned. I tried 'creosote substitute', but it was useless, so have moved on to this. It is easy to apply, soaks into the wood well, and from the COSHH data sheet it appears to be reassuringly toxic, so I am hoping it will be effective. VERY expensive, though. 21 Oct 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A breath of fresh air. Much nicer to use than the old oil based stuff. Can't really tell how effective or reliable it is yet, time will tell. it's a respected brand so I'm sure it will be fine. 1 Oct 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very easy to apply Tried this after finding formulation of competitor products has changed to provide only a surface coating, which is prone to flaking/peeling. Also needed quick drying capacity in view of cold night-time temperature. This was exceptionally easy to apply (and clean up after), soaked in and dried very quickly - much easier than other solvent based types I have tried that need days to dry before re-coating. Time will establish durability - but I will be using this again in future. 1 Oct 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Oh so easy great stuff to use, went on a treat and has dried to a great neutral finish - very pleased with this product that was applied to fences and newly built summerhouse. 25 Sep 2015

Answer:
Sorry but it does not stabilise or harden the wood, it does however protect it against all types of rot, fungi and insects like woodworm.

Answer:
Yes Sikagard Universal Wood Treatment will treat woodworm as well as providing protection against wet rot, dry rot and fungi. The Sikagard Woodworm Killer has a lower price but only treats woodworm. Both also provide long term protection against woodworm re-infestation are low odour and rapid drying.

Answer:
Sikagard Wood Treatment is an all-in-one treatment to prevent wet rot, dry rot, fungi and wood boring insects but unfortunately does not prevent the natural ageing process in teak. It may be worth trying a Teak Oil which is a traditional wood treatment used to replace the natural oils present in teak lost through ageing or weathering and will help to bring out the natural colour of the wood.
