Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bit of a fiddle I bought this to replace a similar lock (not bought from Screfix) on our church office door when it failed. Fitting is a bit of a fiddle to get right and if fitting from new you need a measure of skill to get the correct size holes in the correct places and all nicely square - but that is a characteristic of locks rather than a criticism of this product. It has been in use now for over 6 months and is working fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well built and great quality Although this is easy enough to fit you will need some skill. You will also need a 10mm and 25mm drill bits, star screw driver, hammer, chisel and possibly a hack saw. Took me about an hour and a half to install.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent no-frills lock I installed this lock on a garden gate. It feels pretty solid and has a good quality mechanical feel. The only things I'd criticise is that you might well need to do some cutting with an angle grinder or dremmel to get the screws and follower to fit, depending on the depth of your door. Would have been handy if they'd included some different lengths. Also, to change the factory set pin code, you have to pull apart the lock and use tweezers and fiddly little parts, which has put me off from doing that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy Fitted quite a few of these, and a few others in between. got to say, this one is by far the easiest to fit and adjust.....either for a pro or diy buff

Hello Fingers74,

Every installation/usage is different due to the varying circumstances of the site and environment.

Therefore we advise that you contact a local tradesperson who will be able to view and assess your particular requirements. They will be able to provide further advice for the installation/usage of the push button lock.

Thank you for using Q&A.

I want to use one of these keypad locks on a bedroom door, but they all have latches which are too long, I need a shorter latch like the one you use with regular internal doors. The problem is that the latches that come with these code locks are different to the latches that you get with all other door handles otherwise I would simply use the one that was in the door originally. These latches use a flat bar instead of a solid square bar. I cannot find any single store anywhere that sells these type of latches.

Hi CaptObvious, unfortunately we do not sell a latch shorter that the one supplied. You might find one by looking on the Internet or checking with a locksmith. I hope this information is of some help to you.

Answer:
Hi Smithy12. There is no mention of an IP rating in either the description or the instructions. The outer and inner mounting plates have rubber seals underneath them. From this it would suggest there is some degree of weatherproofing , though we do not know exactly how much. I hope this information is of some help to you.
