Scruffs Switchback Safety Boots Tan Size 8
Comfortable and smart
Fitted nicely straight out of the box and needed very little running in. I feel confident that they provide good protection.
Unlike other hiking style boots they don't come up the ankle too high. They also look pretty good and could be worn as casual shoes.

ok for 6 months!
These were nice comfy boots to start with but after 6 months the soles are really worn and I can feel every stone beneath me. The top of the boots have lasted well but I can't recommend these for site work.

As safety boots go, the comfort of these is good, as most of these types of boots do cause some discomfort because of the inflexability.
They fit well and do what it says on the tin. As I have only just purchased them I cannot comment on value for money and effectiveness as time will tell how long they last etc.
All things considered they seem to be priced fairly and quality is good.

Poor sizing & design
Very disappointed in these boots as they look great compared to most of the alternatives.
I bought these in a size 12, and found the toe area very tight, with the top of the steel toe cap touching the tops of my toes and the front of the boot tight against the tips of my toes with no room to move them. Not good at all if I'm going to be wearing these for 12 hours at a time. I have never had this problem with any other safety boots of the same size.
In addition to this, the design of the top section of the boot is very poor. The tongue is too small for the boot to be fully laced up comfortably. When the laces are done up, they sit slightly higher than the tongue resulting in an uncomfortable fit. The top tabs don't seem to fit well against the tongue either. Only really suitable for wearing casually with the top two lace eyelets undone.
They may be stylish, but if the practical features are badly designed and they don't fit, they're not fit for purpose.
This might not be consistent over all sizes but I would certainly recommend people wanting a size 12 to avoid.
As a side note, I had to place a special order for these size 12's at my local branch because no size 12 footwear is stocked. This is ridiculous! Builders and tradesmen quite often come in large sizes!
