Scheppach PL45MM 145mm Plunge Saw 240V 2 x 800mm Guide Rails & Clamps
Bought to rip down big plywood
After watching various reviews on you tube. Came across this model and seemed to fit what I was looking for but at half the cost of other brands. The guy reviewing was very good and quite informative and like my self keen woodworker.
I choice this due to fact would not be using it everyday. I am a caretaker and keen woodworker and have small workshop and struggle to use table saw to full use so thought this would be good alternative to cut sheets to size.

Conti break out
Stick masking tape on the cut line and make a shallow pass first, then the through cut. Use a new 48t blade.

purchased this 2 weeks ago to do a little job at home
i was impressed straight away .
it was del next day of which i rec a call 10 minutes after placing the order to advise it would be with me tom ..wow! great start
it takes only minutes to get set up & running
the stad 24z blade is for rough cutting only so i purchased a 48 z blade also.can i add no std blade will cut that awful conto board you need a dedicated blade to cut awful man made timbers.
saw is noisy but no more than any other ive used.
cust straight & true with a real feel of power even when cutting at full depth.
ive since learned they sell a bigger version with a 55mm depth of cut & have sold this to a friend & bought that....well impressed

Good but with reservations
It's a bit gruff & noisey - my old B&D circular saw is smoother & quieter.
It cuts absolutely accurately on the rail but for conti the supplied blade is far too coarse - this is the 'reservation' bit - the 145mm blade appears to be unique to this machine, could only find one supplier - the original supplier (who supplies the machine to Screwfix) who had a replacement - a 48 tooth blade - a bit pricey @ £20 each! Even this still gives some break-out on the top face of conti. I've just build some shelves using the saw & had to plane out the the chips in the visible area's.
Can't really comment on reliability as I've only used it for a few hours so far.
Having not used expensive plunge saws, it does seem to be value for money.
