Rated 1 out of 5 by Works but badly made My machine worked very well till today. Just failed. Faulty switch. I opened it up to find that the plastic holding the power cables in the switch mechanism had crumbled. Also the motor had rotated putting stress on the cables. Motor not secured in place. The motor was also covered in dust - the filter does not work well. 11 Sep 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Super piece of kit. I bought one of these last November (2015) and was very happy with it. A few days ago it just stopped working for no apparent reason so one email to Screwfix and I was called the same day by the suppliers to say a replacement was on its way. It arrived the day after! I was and still remain extremely happy with this product, and even more so now there has been a replacement sent with a no-hassle approach to customer service. I was also told to keep my 'old' one for parts etc. Thank you to all concerned, really appreciate such a service. 25 Aug 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by did not last Well I was happy with this when I first got it but after three or so months of emptying the one bag with the zip getting stuck every time I then forgot to check it once and the zip was no more then I had to tape the bag every time this gets very annoying as you have to do so at least once a day. I could not find a replacement bag. 5 months on the machine started to sound bad and had lost suction then it blew I had to pick it up and throw into the garden as the smoke filled the workshop. it is still living in the garden until I go to the tip. Partly my not using the correct bag but what can you do. Got the karcher Wd3p its excellent. 3 Aug 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great Product Poor Dust Bag Recently acquired this product to reduce dust when using a belt sander. Managed to connect the hose to the belt sander with a little bit of giggling, not a perfect fit. The dust extraction was effective for a while until I was dust bellowing from the rear of the unit. The paper/cloth type dust collection bag began to pull apart from the metal spring clip in fact it instantly began falling and pulling apart while attaching from new, after about ½ an hour use the dust bag became totally unattached from the metal spring clip holding it, hence dust everywhere. I managed to overcome this little problem and managed to re-fixed the dust bag to the plastic tube with a bit of persuasion, only to find in a matter of minutes the bag itself split. Good bit of kit, just the dust collecting bag is not up to the mark. 18 Jan 2016

I have just unpacked this item and am surprised to find that the on switch does not latch. As soon as I stop pressing it the device switches off. Is this normal or is mine faulty?

Answer:
Hi The hd2p is a hobby/ diy extractor mainly for the extraction of wood dust , it can also be used for the extraction of a little plaster dust when drilling holes buy means of the special adapter supplied for use with a portable battery drill . This extractor must NOT be used for hot metal dust or plaster chasing . The hd2p can also be used as an inflator . Thanks for your question .
