Rated 5 out of 5 by scheppach bandsaw hbs 20 deliverd very quickly. a sturdy machine that is easy to use. I would recommend scheppach woodwork machines as I have had a belt and disc sander for 5 years. 27 Jan 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not bad for price I have used the bandsaw a couple of times and it seems to have the power. I have found the blade goes of centre, but maybe that's down to me trying to push the wood through to quickly, hopefully I will become a better bandsaw user. I wish I had known there was no mitre guide when I bought it, and I would have bought another one. 13 Nov 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Value for money Bandsaw Great delivery - two days from ordering to being at my door.Good job it comes almost ready assembled and the bits I had to do were simple! Does exactly what it says on the box. This is a well made bit of kit that comes at a great price. There is no need to look for other more expensive items as this one fits the bill . Would recommend this bandsaw anyone wanting to cut wood for 'hobby / DIY' purposes 1 Oct 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not up to standard I do diy as a hobby looking at this product I thought it would do for making little toys such as a 3D reindeer (youtube) simple project but trying to go round slight curves is impossible the blade just wont take the curves then the motor stops very annoying as the blade jams in a curve its doing my head in . Even against the guide you dont get a straight cut !!! Buy cheap you get cheap no offense to screw fix great store and service but this product is useless. 31 Jan 2015

Answer:
Hello I have tested this machine with various timbers and blades , for deep ripping up to 80mm you will need a ripping blade 12mm wide with 4 teeth per inch , the length is 1400 mm , with this blade i ripped acurately 75mm oak with no problem , as always when deep ripping you must let the blade do the work nice and steady .

This is a great little hobby bandsaw . Thanks for your interest .

Provided I got a metal cutting blade - if those are available for this product - is it capable of cutting 3-5mm steel?

Answer:
HI The hbs 20 is not suitable for cutting steel as it does not have the power or the correct speed for metal cutting , please have a look at the basa 3 1 hp variable speed bandsaw . this would be more suited to your needs .

thank you for your enquiry .

Answer:
HI 230v is standard voltage in Europe , uk supply is 240 v standard + / - 6% , 230v + 6% = 243.80v , 230v - 6% = 216v . 230volt motors will run between these tolerances and are completely okay for 240 Volt UK supply.
