You get a pretty much spot on hole every time ( as long as the ground is near enough stone free), much better than the standard ones that end up getting a wider hole the deeper you go. We use it for 3 or 4 days a week installing fences and they last a good 12 months with plenty of use.

I'm a fencing contractor andI brought these to replace an old pair I have, I'm still using the old pair as there so much better.
I liked the design where the handles are spaced apart and there built solid.
A bit on the weighty side but that dose help when driving them in the ground.
I feel the head needs to open up more as it makes the hole narrower as you dig. They are useless when it's wet or clay soil as they constantly block and are hard to unblock as the head dose not open enough.
I would steer clear and go for the wooden handle ones and a long handled spoon. Dig with the spoon and clear the hole with the shovholer.
Read the other reviews and are surprised by them.
Hope this helps.
