Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heater Very good little unit perfect swap for immersion tank in a downstairs flat . Good pressure and good warm water 3 meters away

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Piece of Kit! Bought this to replace a leaking conventional hot water tank that was only being used to feed a couple of taps. Cheaper to buy and run, a tiny fraction of the size of the old tank, what's not to like?

redring 10.8 water heater

can this unit be attached to three outlets i.e sink , basin ,shower even though only one or two could be used at the same time...and also what size/power cable is required to feed unit.
Asked by: cottie
2 plumbers, certified gas engineers, have said so, and one of them has done it - connected my water heater to 1.a shower, 2. basin and 3. kitchen sink. As per the manual, I believe, one can not use hot water at the same time from more than one point . However, I think the cold water usage in the kitchen, for example should not interfere with somebody having a shower, (provided the water flow rate in your accommodation is enough /measured before all plumbing installations /decisions are done. I have not tried my triple connection yet - works are still going on in my flat. I opted for it as a hot water supply for a second shower- en suite. My main shower/bath are connected to my gas combi boiler. So this is all on theory. The cable /power fuse required is in the manual of your heater. Good luck and wish me luck , too.

What is the recommended shower head for use with this product for a shower less than 3 metres away?

Would like to know to try and get a consistent flow of hot water, thinking that current shower head may be too large and is letting water disperse too quickly.
Asked by: Silky13
You are correct, a shower head can be too large. A single or 3 mode show head of reasonable size should work fine.

Can this be connected to the water mains and can I use just a 40Amp RCD Shower Consumer Unit

I have an old consumer unit (the one with fuses) will this cause any concerns? I also wanted to know how efficient and economic it is compared to an electric shower? Thanks

Does the Redring Powerstream have to be used with vented taps

Asked by: Twizle
Powerstream is an inline unvented water heater and does not require vented taps. However it does need specific installation conditions for the hot water expansion to be accommodated in unit and installation pipework as detailed in the manual. We would always recommend ¼ turn spay taps for the best outlet performance. But if the Powerstream is to be connected to a mixer tap then only NON-Thermostatic types should be used. Powerstream is recommended to supply a MAXIMUM of two wash basin outlets and MUST NOT be fitted to a bath or kitchen sink other than for hand-washing only purposes.

Flow Rate

Does the unit have a flow rate restrictor, or can you run the water as fast as you like.
