Rated 5 out of 5Â by WhyFi Frame fixings
I was astonished to see the star rating on this product, particularly from such a reputable brand as Rawlplug - and then I read the low marking reviews ... all of who seem to have tried to screw in hammer fixings
Like all frame fixing the 'screws' are HAMMERED in and a screwdriver gets them out after the plug has been expanded by fitting.
Fitting is simple; an 8mm x 125mm hole drilled through the frame and into the surrounding blockwork or whatever (a multipurpose bit is best). Tap the plug in as far as it will go, don't worry about the slight rim that will protrude a few mm. insert the 'screw' and hit it with a HAMMER - a few blows and the rim and screw head will be flush with the frame - job done. I've used 32 straight out the packet without any problem at all.

Good price, but snap very easily seem to be made of chocolate or other equally unsuitable building material. OK for fixing batons if you use low tourque setting or impact driver

Rated 1 out of 5Â by InterSimi Poor quality Screws - shear
I bought these as I trusted the RAWL brand. Three of the 10 I screwed in sheared at the same point whilst fitting an oak veneer door frame (my second door frame as a DIY'er).
The previous ones I used from another retailer worked a treat. I am taking these back for a refund and will purchase some others, with suitable screws.

The screws shear off before you get them fully tight. Can't believe these are Rawlplug branded - they're usually pretty good. I planned to use them to fix a fire door frame and 6 out of six sheared just where the thread starts. Problem then is you can't get them out. Don't buy these unless you enjoy hassle.
