These types of fixings are great for plasterboard walls. I wouldn't use anything else. I strongly suggest using a "setting tool" to put these in correctly every time, otherwise you may risk damaging your wall!
Great price at Screwfix to!

These are a must if you have a new build house with dry lined walls. It is best if you use the setting tool with them.

I purchased these today after struggling fitting strip lights to a plaster board ceiling. The ceiling is 12.5mm plaster board backed with 50mm of PIR insulation, I started by using the Spit Driva type of fixings but the lights needed minor adjustments to get level and true and when undoing the screws the fixings would come out with the screw. Very frustrating evening and some very unsightly holes in my newly plastered ceiling. I purchased the M6 Rawplug inserts rather then the cheaper versions available because the front face is larger and an M6 version was not available. I purchased the fitting tool and they are great. I fitted 4 of the lights in 1 evening using the new fixings and cannot believe how good they are. Will always use these use the future.

Good strong fixing. I used them to fasten radiator brackets to a hollow wall. The legs spread out behind the plasterboard to spread the load effectively. If installing with a screwdriver you may find that the outer sleeve tends to rotate in the plasterboard. I got round this by gripping the lip of the outer sleeve with a mole wrench until I felt the legs expanding, then you can let go of it and allow the fixing to settle in as you tighten it up.
