Rated 5 out of 5 by from Low cost money saver I installed some radiator covers and got this to push more heat through the front. Very easy to install just using double sided tape. Noticed the difference straight away and had to turn the thermostat down a few degrees. There is enough to do two good size radiators, I will be getting some more before winter and stay toasty while saving money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good reflector foil When I have to remove or change a radiator on an outside facing wall I always fit this foil before fitting the rad back. It all helps keep the heat inside and not loosing heat through the wall. This is as good as any other and sticks to wall with wall paper paste.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Radiator foil This is an aluminium foil combined with an insulating foam backing approx 2mm thick.Simply cut to size required and glue to wall behind radiator to reduce heat loss through the wall. Mainly used on an outside wall. it recommends that its fixed with wallpaper adhesive and rads not turned on untill its dry, but, as a tradesman, time is money so I used a gun applied adhesive (Fixall or similar would do) to give an instant fix to the wall

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality This product is of poor quality. The foil is very thin and tares easily when cutting. The insulation value is poor being so thin. Alternative products based on foil covered bubble wrap are much more effective.

Which goes first, foil or wallpaper?

My walls are stripped and rads out. Is its best to line the walls first then fix the foil or the other way round...lining paper then foil?
Asked by: Blissfull
Hello Blissfull, The reflective surface will need to be on the surface, so the foil will need to go on after any lining paper and wallpaper. Thanks for using Q&A, KC

Can I use your 88629 radiator defector foil on underside of a wooden shelf above a storage heater? How far from heater should shelf be placed? Can foil be applied with ready mixed wallpaper paste? Thank you

Asked by: Ativa
Hello Ativa. This foil can be used as you describe. It needs to be placed reasonably close to the source of the heat as it is the reflective aspect of the foil that will create any benefit. Wallpaper paste is deal for fixing this foil but spray adhesive or double sided tape can also be used. Hope that helps.
