Needed some roundhead screws for outside work so checked the reviews and went for these. The screws are absolutely fine, you need a good driver to send these in, preferably an unused bit. I probably should have drilled pilot holes first but although they took some pushing, I didn't get any snapped heads. The main problem, as noted by other reviewers, is that they are supplied in a box with a countersunk picture on the outside. I bought the box and thought nothing of it until I opened it and found --200 countersunk screws. I had to go back and change the box which again had a picture of countersunk screws. This time I opened it in store and found the correct roundhead screws inside. What a waste of time and petrol. You need to sort this out Screwfix.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by DIYisbetter Perfect for joist hangers
I found these ideal for fixing joist hangers in my garage loft (standard and underslung). Quicker, easier and quieter than using twist-nails, and leaving me the option to alter things easily in the future. Using a PZ2 screwdriver head after drilling pilot holes, there were no problems installing 600 screws in a very short time.

Countersunk screws have plenty of metal into which to shape the Pozi recess. Raised heads don't. Driving these into even quite soft wood with new (good quality) bits was a real struggle. Compared to screws with a nice deep recess, which fit nicely onto the bit, they were horrid, taking extreme pressure to keep the bit engaged.
Not really the screw's fault, since an adequate recess would leave so little metal that the heads would snap off.
However, if you don't really really need raised head - really really don't use these.

The heads are very small so the screwdriver doesn't have much to grip on when doing up, so I brought these back. As always with screwfix there was no problem with a refund.
