Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent value. Wanted to wiring daughters garage up. Due to the distance to the garage 20 metres and the volts drop used this cable instead of the 2.5 MM . As other reviewers have said the colour of the 3 inner cables hasn't a green/yellow so used the grey instead. Used the tower 15mm cc6 cleats to fasten in place. Excellent value and in stock.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Strong but good value I needed this for a outside job, and is very strong, and will last the cold nights under ground for many years, worth the money

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Armoured cable. You can get this stuff a fair bit cheaper if you know were to go.You cant get it cheaper than this after 5pm or on a sunday. It is not the best I have used but it is far from the worst. It is worth the extra for the convenience of getting hold of it at short notice when everywhere else is closed.

What are the dimensions of the drum, wondering if it. will fit in the boot of an average car?

Asked by: Cable1234
This product is a 'coil' of cable in shrink wrap. It isn't on a drum. No problem to fit into a car boot.

What is preferred diameter 2.5 or 4mm

Max power use about 2.5kw Cable will be hooked to ring via 13A rcd spur Distance from spur to outbuilding consumer unit is approx 15m. Please advise on cable diameter to use
Asked by: cbguy
Your load will pull about 11 amps. Both of these cables are rated to carry in excess of 25 amps so either are suitable. The volt drops of either are not significant. Perhaps you should consider if you want to increase the load in the future in which case this might influence you. If in doubt contact a qualified electrician.

What is current rating at 230-240v

I am installing this for use in an outbuilding that will be heated using IR ceiling heating rated at 600W plus normal lighting and media equipment. Would 4sqmm be preferable or would the 2.5sqmm suffice for this application?
Asked by: cbguy
The single phase clipped direct rating from the wiring regulations for the 2.5mm² is 36 amps and for the 4.0mm² 49 amps. You need to establish what current your cable is to carry and over what distance to ensure that the volt drop is acceptable and cable is rated higher than its fuse. You do not actually say how/where this cable is to be installed. For your information you can find our data sheet on our web site at http://uk.prysmiangroup.com/en/business_markets/markets/ti/datasheets/BS5467.pdf If in doubt refer to a qualified electrician.

I want to bury this size cable to a shed well in advance of an electrician completing the installation. I was expecting blue, brown and green/yellow colours so not sure if its suitable?

Asked by: RamsayMc
This cable is manufactured to BS5467. The standard core colours in that standard for a 3-core cable would be brown, black and grey, which are the 3-phase core colours. You can use sleeving over the cores with the single phase colours of brown, blue and green/yellow at each termination point of the circuit.
