Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product Used this for some outdoor work. It is very robust and up to the job. The wires are colour coded for 3 phase I believe so if single phase you should put a blue tail on the black wire. I cannot fault this cable although I do struggle with the end connectors for them. There never seems to be enough play to allow you to engage the threaded portion to start tightening up. I have followed all the instructional videos by professionals and its never been as easy as they make out, but thats a problem with the connector not the cable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong! This cable is Danny good value. I know it's all about the copper content but have you ever bought a cooker cable £££! Anyways, this is perfect to run my garage up to 1000w according to Wikipedia. Thanks again Screwfix.

What is the minimum bend radius of this cable?

Presumably it is too stiff to take out the back wall of my house and clip it to the wall.
Asked by: StuartCP
The minimum bend radius is based on 6 x the outside diameter. Therefore in the case of this cable 80 mm.. Obviously It is not designed to be bent over a sharp edge. Is it possible to fit some sort of support/former at the edge to manage the bend?

Would this cable be suitable to run a 240v connection to my garden shed, shed would have one double socket, and a 5ft strip light?.

Asked by: prudoe
You don't say how the cable is to be installed. However this is an armoured cable suitable for burial or surface mounting for situations like yours. Whether the cable is the correct size will depend upon the fuse protecting the circuit (the cable must be rated to carry a current larger than the fuse) and the length of the circuit so that the volt-drop over its length is acceptable. Please refer to the wiring regulations or a standard text and if in doubt consult a qualified electrician.

Which Tower External Gland kit should be used for this size of cable? There is no sizing or suitability data in the information given for the Screwfix gland kits.

Asked by: Capability
Please refer to our Bicon catalogue which you can find on the web. This particular cable with a diameter under armour of 9mm and an over all diameter of 13mm will require CW Gland Kit KA419-52 (20S). Please confirm by reference to the catalogue.

Would this be the correct armoured cable

to run from house consumer board to the garage which is 17mt distance run of cable. The supply is to run lights & 3 double sockets for Tumble dryer Freezer and power tools
Asked by: Gildatq2
Please note we are not in a position to add up the total kW load of all your appliances & you do not state installation method (buried in the ground or otherwise). What is the rating of your fuse protection? If you are using a 32Amp fuse/breaker at the consumer unit then we would recommend a 4sqmm cable. Provided the fuse protection does not exceed 27 Amps then 2.5sqmm would be sufficient. Regards Peter Fox
