Use with mains voltage LEDs?
Hi, would this cable (1.5mm2) be suitable for mains voltage LED external lights? Total load just a few tens of watts and short cable run of ca 5 metres. I noticed it states low voltage so was a little unsure.
This cable is standard armoured power cable which is rated to carry mains voltage. In the industry the term low voltage applies to 1000 volts and less. So it is suitable for single phase 230 volt installations.

I'm getting bits for wiring up external garden studio. Max voltage 2.5kw. Is this 1.5mm armoured sufficient for the external run or should I use 2.5mm?
I'll be getting an electrician friend to fit it.
Depends on the length of the cable run, but 2.5mm is best. as you never know when or if you will pull more than 2.5KW and if you move then the next people etc, also make sure you fit a distro rcd fuse box in the studio as well then wire off this.
