Rated 5 out of 5Â by Mick01 Good inspection pit
Good in spect ion pit. A bit larger than expected but this gives plenty of room for terminating your earth cable. The put lacks a point of entry in side for cable access but easy enough to drill one. Allen key screws for lid should be supplied with an Allen key but isn't. And as previous review says there should be a hole in the bottom of the pit as to allow drainage directly onto your earth rod which will help with getting better resistance and therefore better readings on external loop test (ZE)

This is a straightforward inspection pit to house the top of an earth rod. It is meant to be buried up to its top surface in soil or concrete and, despite the previous review, is NOT meant to be sealed at the base. There are no parts missing. The earth rod is hammered in either before or after this pit is fitted and one of the benefits of this inspection pit is that water that does enter through the lid will be directed into the ground around the earth rod, thereby improving the rod's contact with the surrounding ground. Therefore, this pit will not fill up with water and they are never meant to be sealed. They are to allow ease of access for testing, not weatherproofing. For the purpose intended, this is a good sized item that allows plenty of room to access and test the earth.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by AMAK bigger than expected
Well as per the title this is larger than expected - I was hoping for something the size of a stop cock cover but this is about 4 times bigger in surface area. It is missing a lot of bits for fitting to an earth rod:- firstly it has a large hole in the bottom which needs a seal plate and that then has the rod seal assembly. Disappointing. The access pull key holes accept the allen screws supplied but do not seal to the base so would eventually fill the rod end chamber with water - bizarre. In spite of the supplier being called Green brook the product is moulded with FURSE a Thomas and Betts company.
