Rated 4 out of 5Â by yaphco Reliable valve
I stopped fitting vanilla cheap isolating valves years ago after finding too many that leak as soon as you touch them (generally ones fitted in the hardest places to replace!). These are pretty good: a bit more expensive but worth it for the reliability.
And the spanner-friendly hexagonal body makes fitting easier.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by DIYexperienced Hope this is better
Previous service valve leaked when I turned it off for a tap repair. On inspection, the old one (from Screwfix) was seriously pitted and corroded on the ball of the valve. This time I bought the higher priced Yorkshire brand, so I hope it is made of more water friendly metal. Time will tell Don't know how to score the star ratings. Based upon the old fitting, it should get no stars at all. Lets hope this turns out to be a five star purchase.

...but this worked for me! Nice tight fit and easy to keep straight while tightening.

Have used lots of these, generally have been very good, just one batch had a few problem ones.
Expensive, but there aren't many isolating valves available that are WRAS approved .
The best I have found so far !.
