Rated 1 out of 5 by from doesn't work with grout the plunger has gaps in it so when you squeeze the trigger some grout comes out the nozzle and some comes through the plunger seems about 50% Not sure what else it can work with or maybe mine had apart missing?

Does this gun fit the Nitroseal MS300 600ML Foil cartridges?

Asked by: Hodkin
Hello, yes this tool is designed to work with sachets, also known as foils or sausages. They can be up to 600ml in volume - roughly 350mm long and a little under 50mm in diameter. If one of our guns is called a 'Combi', it refers to the dispenser being a combination tool. This means that it can dispense both cartridges and sausages. It is very easy to change from using sachets to cartridges. The gun has a set of two plungers on the end of the rod inside the closed barrel. Simply unscrew the barrel to access them. When both the small, metal plunger - known as a 'Tin Hat' - and the larger, blue, plastic plunger are attached to the end of the rod, then the gun is set up to dispense sausages. The blue plunger will fill the inner diameter of the barrel. Be aware that you need to have both plungers in place for it to work properly, with the Tin Hat behind the plastic plunger. To dispense cartridges, which can be up to 500ml in volume but are typically either 310ml or 400ml, all you have to do is remove the blue plunger and only have the Tin Hat on the end of the rod. Because it is smaller, it fits inside the cartridge. The plungers are held on with nuts. Be careful to wind the front nut forward to the end of the rod so that it sits flush on the end. That way, you won't have a length of rod sticking out that could puncture the back of a cartridge or sachet.

Can this product be used easily with prepackaged tile grout

P C Cox Midiflow Combi Barrel Gun & Nozzle
Asked by: Tubbs68
Hello, I you could try it but it would not be the best tool for the job and would soon render the tool useless. The problem is that the plunger is not designed to push bulk material packed directly (loose) into the barrel. This plunger is designed to push material packed either in sachets/sausages or packed in cartridges. the blue plastic plunger has small fins/slits cut into it, which would allow the grout to push through it when you are trying to push the material out of the gun. You would wind up with the grout on the wrong side of the plunger, which when you retracted the rod to refill the tube, would allow grout to be pulled through the mechanism, making a mess of the gun and probably drastically shortening it's life. There's good news though. We also have a PC Cox Ultrapoint Pointing & Grouting gun available on here which is purpose built for this type of job. It comes with two nozzles. The finer, grey nozzle, is designed for use when grouting. This gun is much quicker to fill, much easier to clean and holds much more material. My top tip is to 'tune' the plunger after every three to four tubes of material. Simply tighten the nut behind the plunger by roughly a quarter turn. That will compress the rubber disc, making it fill the inner diameter of the tube. This mean no material by-passes the plunger and will give you the best results and less mess. If you over-tighten the nut, you'll find it hard to pull the rod back to refill the tube. Hope that helps!
