Hello, yes this tool is designed to work with sachets, also known as foils or sausages. They can be up to 600ml in volume - roughly 350mm long and a little under 50mm in diameter.
If one of our guns is called a 'Combi', it refers to the dispenser being a combination tool. This means that it can dispense both cartridges and sausages.
It is very easy to change from using sachets to cartridges. The gun has a set of two plungers on the end of the rod inside the closed barrel. Simply unscrew the barrel to access them. When both the small, metal plunger - known as a 'Tin Hat' - and the larger, blue, plastic plunger are attached to the end of the rod, then the gun is set up to dispense sausages. The blue plunger will fill the inner diameter of the barrel. Be aware that you need to have both plungers in place for it to work properly, with the Tin Hat behind the plastic plunger.
To dispense cartridges, which can be up to 500ml in volume but are typically either 310ml or 400ml, all you have to do is remove the blue plunger and only have the Tin Hat on the end of the rod. Because it is smaller, it fits inside the cartridge.
The plungers are held on with nuts. Be careful to wind the front nut forward to the end of the rod so that it sits flush on the end. That way, you won't have a length of rod sticking out that could puncture the back of a cartridge or sachet.
