Rated 5 out of 5 by Best varnish for exterior We really like this varnish. It goes on well, normally doesn't run, and looks good. You need a light sanding between coats to get the best finish. Even the fumes aren't bad. 28 Jun 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Yes-No Nonsense Yacht Varnish Just the job wanted initially to seal hardwood window sills in bathroom but found it gave such a good finish that I did the whole lot throughout the house the product is just the right viscosity to cover in two coats a 50% white spirit mix for the first coat penetrates the wood leaving a excellent finish to key with the final coat, Quick drying and covers so well with a soft brush. 27 Jun 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Yorkie498 Fantastic after the first coat a quick rub down with wire wool(when dry) I left mine a good 24hrs then then 2nd coat and it's like glass as smooth as a babies bum easy to brush on and rub down 16 Jun 2016

Hi
I have a sign for outside which I need to seal. One side has been painted with cuprinol fence paint, the other has been left as natural wood. Can I use this varnish on both sides to seal it and keep it waterproof?
Thanks
Jenny

Hello Anonymous,

This product is not a sealer so it would not be suitable for your intended use, you could use the following product (8923F) r: http://www.screwfix.com/p/liberon-exterior-wood-protector-clear-1ltr/8923f

Thank you for using Q&A.

Hello RWils,

As long as the product has a prepared timber surface for the product to key to then there should not be a problem.

Thank you for using Q&A.

Hello.
The No Nonsense Yacht Varnish Gloss can be used on stone, but the only thing to remember, stone is very porous and you could use more varnish.

Answer:
Hi Elles,

Providing that you leave the varnish long enough to completely clear it will be safe as the solvents in the product will evaporate.

Thank you for using Q and A.
