Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great varnish and great value A little more runny than some brands so some care needed when applying, but goes on very well, dries quickly and gives an excellent finish. When compared to other brands there is really no comparison as this is top of the league in terms of quality and considerably cheaper than others so is superior value for money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The "turn-to" varnish I always use this for finishing oak doors and other joinery. Quick-drying, odour free, reliable, easy to apply and clean up. For this quality, the price is excellent too. What more do you need? Well - the option of bigger cans would be very useful.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK If you have the time I admit I didn't make the connection between "quick drying" and water based. The description doesn't mention this. So I was a bit surprised to open the can and find something white looking. Tried it on a small area of the intended target and as it was difficult to see any varnish I switched to polyurethane and finished it that way. I prefer paints and paint strippers to smell awful and rot your brains, but on another job I tried this product and found it works. It does take at least three coats to build up any kind of finish. More vanish than varnish at the early stages. Quick drying but multiple coats required. Plus points - good if you want a natural "unvarnished" looking finish and brushes are easy to clean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from As good as the branded version I've used this on two Oak faced doors - applied with a 4" sponge roller, took hardly any time and although when first applied you get a fine orange peel finish, it levels out to a perfectly flat satin finish. 3 thin coats give an appearance as good as a factory applied finish. 750ml was just about enough to put 3 coats on two sides of two doors

Asked by: Andrewrw
Hello Andrewrw, It will depend on the electric sprayer you have and whether it will take this type of paint, it may possibly say in the instruction manual for your sprayer. Thank you for using Q & A. DC

Asked by: DICKO3
Hello DICKO3, This product will appear 'milky' in colour when in the tin, however after application the product will dry clear. If in doubt then please test the product on an inconspicuous sample area before use. Thank you for using Q&A. (LM).

Will this product cause a mellowing/orange colour effect when used on pine?

Nearly all products when used on Pine will cause mellowing -
Asked by: Phil028
Hi Phil028, This product is suitable to use on pine, however we are unable to comment on whether it will leave a mellowing/orange colour effect on pine so we would recommend either speaking to a suitably qualified trades person who may know from experience or testing the product on a small/unnoticeable patch before starting any major work. Thank you for using Q&A. JBT
