Rated 5 out of 5 by Great value for money Have used this before with the no nonsense system cleaner, did an excellent job of solving a difficult boiler failure problem caused by dirt in a underfloor installation, very please with the result so adding to another system that previously used Fernox but had to be drained to replace hot water cylinder. I use two bottles as systems are quite large. 22 Apr 2016

Each bottle indicates expiry date on it, which I think is related to the shelf life. Nothing tells the length of time it continues being effective when added to the system so as to add more if needed.

Answer:
Yes the expiry date is for shelf life purposes and stock rotation.

The inhibitor will last indefinitely unless it's drained down for any reason.

However it's good practice to top up every one to three years. It's always better to overdose than under dose.

Answer:
Absolutely. In fact systems contructed with plastic pipe can often stuffer air ingress via the push-fit fittings - particularly if pipe supports have not been used. This can cause excessive corrosion of the metal parts sumac has steel radiators. It is important to use a good quality inhibitor and any of the 3 No Nonsense products which are BuildCert approved will do the job. Choose from liquid, gel or inhibited antifreeze.

Good day,

It appears most other inhibitors also prevent the growth of bacteria, does this product prevent such growth?

Answer:
Hello. The No Nonsense Central Heating Inhibitor will work to an extent to prevent the growth of bacteria, but it is not designed to prevent such growth of bacteria.

Answer:
In an open vented system with feed and expansion tank 100L represents about 10 radiators.

In a sealed system 10 radiators would probably have a system volume of 70-80L because the feed and expansion tank has been eliminated.

On that basis a sealed system of capacity 100L would likely consist of 12 radiators.

It's always better to overdose than under dose.

And it's always best to err on the side of caution.

So for every 10 radiators (count doubles as two) add one bottle. For example in an 18 radiator system add two whole bottles.

Answer:
Strictly speaking according to BS7593 it is not advisable to mix inhibitors from different brands - drain down, refill and start again with No Nonsense. All the variants (inhibitor, inhibitor concentrate and inhibited antifreeze) are compatible and can be mixed. If there is a small amount of a leading brand in the system we have not encountered any incompatibility issues. If in doubt please call our helpline on 0845 880 60 50 for a more detailed explanation.
