Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job Only had for 1 week, but performs as well as any other left blower I've had, but feels much more well built. Not too heavy, my 13 year old son is able to use

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piston ring failed Bought in October, cleared the leaves twice and failed. Been in the repair shop since. A piece of junk. Better off with a rake.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great power but.... I have an electric 3000W but a garden with lots of trees on the borders (circa 20 bags each weekend!) and therefore wanted something that would gobble up the leaves. Firstly, great power and way better than my lecky job. However, my electric 3000W can simply switch from suck to blow, with the McCulloch I have to unbolt the blower piece, then open the side vent and then attach the vacuum pipe!! It takes about 5 mins but is a pain to do when you simply want to switch from one to the other. This is especially the case when you have stones and you want to blow over the stones and then pick up afterwards. The bag is a pain also, the zips is way to small, you can't simply up end and empty out. Therefore you end up having to pull the cut leaves out, which means that to be honest it would be quicker to blow, pile them up, then pick them up by hand than use the vacuum. That said I want the leaves cut so that more fits in the bags (less bags, less journeys), so I am using the vacuum but not too happy about it. Finally, if your McCulloch starts to vibrate wildly it is likely the impeller is cracked/broken. The image shows mine after the first day. I was vacuuming and some stones had blown from the path and were under the leaves = bust impeller. It still worked but it vibrated so much I couldn't hold it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from SUPRISINGLY POWERFUL AND QUIET A GOOD QUALITY MACHINE THAT APPEARS ROBUST AND WELL PUT TOGETHER. STARTS EASILY AND IS SMOOTH WITH VERY LITTLE VIBRATION. SUPRISINGLY POWERFUL BOTH ON BLOW AND VACUUM AND IS QUIET ENOUGH NOT TO ANNOY THE NEIGHBOURS IT IS ALSO LIGHTER THAN EXPECTED FOR SUCH A POWERFUL MACHINE, BUT IS WELL BALANCED AND A JOY TO USE FOR LONG PERIODS. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BOTH FOR DOMESTIC AND PROFESSIONAL USE.

I have an electric garden vacuum [purchased from a supermarket] that has been damaged by pebbles and stones inadvertently sucked up with leaves.
The stones and pebbles have ripped through the plastic making a hole from the inside-out, and several other cracks have appeared in the plastic, after just two weeks' use.
Has anyone had problems of damage to the plastic used in the construction of the McCulloch ?

How loud is it?

Is it "start it anytime in the morning and fall out with all the neighbors" loud or no worse than a petrol lawn mower??
