Rated 1 out of 5 by fail x2 I bought two of these and one of them failed after 24 hours. It started the appliance at the correct time but didn't turn it off. I took it back for a replacement and it did the same thing. On timer it would not switch off at all. I took both of them back and replaced them with a different make. The switch mechanism on these is very flimsy. I could hear the mechanism click at the time settings, but it would not turn off the mains supply. 17 May 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Timer socket we needed to turn off the WiFi router at night to stop the older kids sitting up on facebook half the night without staying up after 11pm. it was quick and easy to set up with clear concise instructions. mechanical switch so less to go wrong with it. A little hit and miss to get accurate timing as the times are set in 15 minute increments but can easily be fine tuned by switching off the socket when the switch clicks off then switch it back on at the required switch off time 29 Apr 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Decent quality timer Easy to set up and use. Not as accurate as the digital ones, but who needs a timer that accurate? Can take just over 3kw of load (don't recall that being on the specs) 8 Apr 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Neat Timer Nice neat mechanical timer used for running garden water feature. Dial & setting pegs quite small so not dead acurate but well good enough for job. 29 Mar 2016

Hi, thank you for your product enquiry.
This timer will repeat the same setting every day that it is plugged in to a powered socket, so yes you could set a 6pm on time for however long you wish to (in multiples of 15 minutes).

I need to be able to have a light that I will plug into the timer to turn on, then off again every 2 minutes. Will this product be able to do this?

Hi, thank you for your product enquiry.
The minimum time period for this timer is 15 minutes (or multiples thereof), so you will NOT be able to set it to switch every 2 minutes unfortunately.

Hi, thank you for your product enquiry.
This base wattage for this timer alone, with no device connected to it, is 1.04W.
This translates to a chargeable consumption of 0.00104 kW/h.

Answer:
Hi, thank you for your product enquiry.
This timer is rated for a load of 13A resistive or 2A inductive.
13A is equivalent to just over 3kW while 2A is equivalent to 480W, so it depends on the load your immersion heater would put onto the timer as to whether it is suitable or not.
As a general rule of thumb most UK domestic immersion heaters run at around 3kW, most are only a resistive load but a few are also inductive (so would not be suitable for use with this timer).
Unfortunately it is very uncommon for manufacturers to list the inductive load component of there products, so it will be difficult to be certain whether the immersion which you have in mind will be suitable for this timer or not.

I have a storage heater that seems to be on all the time and I want to make use of cheap night-time electricity? The storage heater is plugged into the wall with a standard plug. Would this be capable of working with the heater?

Answer:
The switching capacity for this timer is 13A (3,120W) resistive or 2A (480W) inductive.
If your storage heater is below these load levels then the timer will be suitable.
