Manrose Automatic Axial Pullcord Kitchen Fan
The instructions are not brilliant as they are for multiple products. It was not easy to immediately see that the grill had to be prised out to get to the screws to put it together and the pull cord is very short but it does the job and does not have a grill rattling about in the wind like the old fan had.

Bought this fan as our bathroom had not got one .With a very small room and no outside wall suitable to insert one ,we had to place one in the window .So far it has delighted our expectation ,easy to install not particularly noisy ,well you always expect some while working .We live in a very windy area ,so was concerned about outside noise through the fan ,but so far it is minimal ,relieved about that .Mainly fitted to combat condensation and it certainly does that task ,so job done! definitely recommend ,and the price was pleasing too .

Good value for money
I bought this unit as a direct replacement for an older Manrose unit which failed after many years of daily use.
I was a tad concerned with a few reviews which mentioned the supplied fixings were not long enough to extend through a double glazed window unit, but was prepared to use the older screws from the failed units. However whilst the three supplied screws are shorter than those securing the older unit they were adequate to allow a good hold and the unit has been attached securely.
The original unit had flaps on the outside, which opened with vent pressure when the fan was on, then fell closed with the unit off and generally stopping air/wind boring back into the kitchen. The new unit has an electrically operated inner flap/slat mechanism, which I thought would better the old system. However the fan has to be on for about a minute before the flap/slats actually start to slowly open. Once fully open the unit works fine... then when one turns the fan off the flap/slats remain open for about a minute before they slowly close. This is a bit of a pain and I am not sure if it is a design point or a fault. I will keep using the unit and see if this cycle speeds up... if not I will "google" the matter and see if the flap/slat opening mechanism is needing attention.
Otherwise a cost effective replacement or almost like for like at a sensible price.
