Rated 4 out of 5 by from Why pay more when this works?? This is a simple, uncomplicated vent. So why pay more than the Screwfix price??? Fits perfectly in the 100mm hole I made in the garage wall for venting of a tumble dryer. Remove the outer casing by unclipping, push the base into the hole, put 4 screws (not supplied) in each corner of the base to secure, then clip the outside cover back on. Mastic the outer edge to weatherproof if like me some brick work was dislodged during drilling and not totally smooth....job done. Will leave it for a week or so and then use the tumble dryer this weekend. Screwfix is the nuts! Simples.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good item. Bought these to replace the old extractor fan vents, which were flapping in the wind and driving the customer nuts. Uninstalled, cleaned down, new ones installed and sealed in under 5 minutes. Customer over the moon. Would definitely get these again.

Can this be used in a slanted celing of a lean to? Need a vent for condendation to escape from central heating outlet. Lean to is open on 3 sides, more like a carport

Asked by: Crill15
Hello, The specified product does have a removable flap to allow for free air flow, though I would personally recommend contacting the manufacturer, as this seems to be a fairly specific installation requirement.

Is this suitable as a trickle vent to deal with cold spot condensation? I need the vent to be open all the time. Thank you.

Asked by: Themint
The Vent Cowls contain an Anti Back-draught Damper, this would not allow for Trickle Ventilation as the Wind will close the Dampers. Even if you were to remove the Damper, the hole would be rather large without any physical or back-draught protection. This would most likely reduce the Temperature of the Room it was installed in.

Back draft

Does this have an internal back draft system? i.e. a gravity flap/flaps? I see a previous answer says it has a "damper"
Asked by: nehpetsstephen
Hello, the term "damper" also refers to backdraught/gravity flaps, and yes this does have an internal flap to prevent ingress of return air.

Is there a round connector/adaptor to the rear of the cowl? To allow a tumbler dryer hose to be connected.

Asked by: 75ra
There are Round and Rectangular Connections on the rear of the Cowl. The Round has an Outer Diameter of 99mmØ and is to be used with the 4"/100mm Manrose Ducting Lengths and Accessories. The Rectangular has an Outer Dimension of 111x56mm and is to be used with the 110x54mm Manrose Rectangular Ducting Lengths and Accessories. The unused connection would need to be removed for the Grille to be fixed to a wall.

does this have an insect screen?

Asked by: Andy1955
The '16195'/'41031W' does not include an integral Insect/Fly-screen. A single flap/vane is located within the Hooded Cowl to help with wind back-draught.
