Dissappointing Makita Drill Not the drill I intended to buy but the only Makita with 4amp battery available. I checked reviews and all seemed positive. They must be written by DIYers, gutless is not the word. Okay as a drill for wood with sharp bits but as a screwdriver next to useless. Clutch engages far to early, my 14.4 and 10.8 impacts knock spots of it. I would go so far as to say it is completely unfit for purpose as a screwdriver, Really I should have expected this as the price was too good to be true. From the second I lifted it from the box it felt like a dIY tool. I will be taking mine back tomorrow and will be exchanging towards something better. 10 Mar 2015
Work horse Ideal for the job I do (although the 4Ah battery makes it a tad heavy but that was my choice), and it's done everything I've asked it to The only thing I'd like to see added to this drill is a light as some of the areas I work in are dark - maybe something screwfix can pass on to the manufacturer???? 5 Mar 2015
you know the drill Always bought cheaper offers in the past and found the batteries fail through irregular use so I have a shed full of old drills with shot batteries and a new battery is more than I paid for the drill .Several professional carpenters /builders I know use Makita all the time and sing their praises as they are good quality and reliable and the batteries are long lasting with a good shelf life .So for once I'll listen to the professionals and buy quality rather than go for a bargain, although it was 10% off which was nice 7 Feb 2015
Makita good standard Does exactly what I expected , ideal for the job. Would prefer a belt clip similar to de Walt drills 7 Feb 2015
