Makita BL1840 18V 4.0Ah Li-Ion Battery

Product Code: 19371

The Makita BL1840 18V 4.0Ah Li-ion battery is an efficient and long lasting power pack that is the same weight as its 3Ah equivalent. It's durable, comes in a shock-absorbing pack and won't overheat during long jobs. The battery easily fits all compatible Makita power tools thanks to a simple, secure slide-in mechanism and it can be charged to full power in just 36 minutes. It won’t self-discharge when kept in storage for a long time either, so it's ready to go as soon as you are.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Doesn't fit my makita I have just bought this product. It only fits one of my tools. My drills and grinder use the 3ah batteries and have the star on them. I bought into makita so I could use the same batteries, now I am stuck with old tech. Not at all happy. 10 Dec 2015

Answer:
Yes, as long as it's the correct fitting for your drill it will be fine. Think of the ah rating like the size of the fuel tank - as long as it's the same power (ie 18V) as your drill it will be fine, just that a 4ah battery will allow it to run for longer than a 3ah before needing to be recharged.
