Makita 9554NBKDS/1 4½" Angle Grinder 110V
I use these grinderevery day and they are great. Never had a problemwith switches and dont need or want a slow start. Mine get plenty of abuse and last years ...in fact I have one that is 8 years old and still great !.

Looked at the reviews already posted for the 240v version and decided I could live with a switch that is a bit tricky. but having used it I must agree that the switch is awful you need to take your hand away from the grip and fiddle about to get the switch to lock -- and as this model has no soft start feature you really need a good grip when it starts up. But the worst thing is the amount of vibration produced, I don't know if I had a faulty item but I could not use it for more than a few seconds at a time. I was using it with diamond polishing pads to re dress stonework on first start up I thought I had fitted the pad off centre. I had burnt out a dewalt grinder the day before and that had not produced anything like the same amount of vibration and been using a cordless for the rest of the day with no problem. I have returned it and swapped it for a "sparky" version which I have just been using flat out for two and a half hours with no problems. The switch is where it should be vibration is minimal and it has a soft start mechanism. for a few quid more I would recommend this one so far. Again no problems with screwfix they replaced straight away.
