I've fitted two of these at home and another for a customer. We've got small children who find it difficult to press the top mounted flush buttons so this worked out a treat.
Easy to fit, reliable and I've only changed the batteries once in 14 months.
Fairly expensive compared to newer easy flush or button systems but they both work really well. Happy days :-)

this is a great concept but unfortunately it does not live up to everything it says it does on the packet in order to flush you must hold your hand above the sensor for the entire duration you would like the toilet to flush for. the advertised number average flushes you get for a full set of batteries is massively exaggerated i'm finding a full set of batteries need replaced every 2 weeks approximately 25 flushes.

I installed one of these a few months back, worked fine from the start and then started being hit and miss, then failed altogether.
Also the batteries don't last as long as the MI's state.Being a plumbing and heating engineer I'd talk my customers out of having one.
Basic manual fill and flushes will last yrs before you need repairs.

I fitted this device for a customer who was having trouble operating the original push button flush on her toilet due to bad arthritis in her hands. Although I have fitted many replacement flush siphons/valves I had not previously fitted an infrared operated device and I was interested to check out how useful it might be for other customers. As I do this for a living, removing the toilet cistern and replacing it is fairly straightforward, however, unless you are a fairly competent DIYer it might be best to entrust this work to a professional whom you trust. Before starting the job it would be worth having a close coupling kit to hand as I found that I had to use a different 'doughnut' washer to the one supplied in the kit. Also, although it stated on the box that batteries were not supplied with the valve, I didn't notice this until I started the job. You will need 4 AA batteries to complete the installation. Once fitted the valve worked as I had hoped and did not seem to be affected by the light being switched on and off, unlike an infrared tap I fitted in the past. I have not been able to assess the performance or reliability over an extended period and hence have only given an average mark for this, but I have no reason to suspect that the valve will not work for a reasonable length of time. Overall very impressed with the product and would definitely recommend.
