Victorian Mortice Knob Pair Polished Chrome 51mm
Poor quality product
The knobs are fitted too tightly on the fixing plate, so that they are difficult to turn even when holding the plate and trying to rotate the knob. This means when fitted, the mortice latch does not return to normal and the knob gets stuck. As one knob was tighter than the other, there may be variances in manufacturing quality, so perhaps some people may be lucky when buying this product. I'll be returning mine.

Upon receipt, these knobs were so tight in the bezel that, when fitted, the lock return spring could not function. Being a consummate "Bodger" I was able to dismantle both knob assemblies and compensate for the manufacturing "anomalies". It only took about 45 minutes of work to end up with an acceptable performance from these cheap and presentable items. Dismantling the assemblies allowed me to use the bezel as a template for drilling the necessary screw holes, this made driving home the screws from an odd angle fairly easy.
Be prepared to improvise and think of the money you've saved.

Exeptionally poor quality
Bought these knobs to replace handles so that the dog couldn't open the kitchen door. When I opened the box I was suprised how badly the chrome plating was finished. My surprise didn't end there when, I tried to turn the knob on the rose before I installed them. I knew that a spring on a tubular catch would never return them to the mid position. But, none the less, I fitted them anyway. I was not surprised, but dissappointed at being right. I know they are not expensive at just under £10. These would be at home at your local flea market. And even then, half the price would be too much.

chrome door knobs
I was looking to refresh the interior doors in our house and these knobs looked good in the catalogue. They look even better on the doors, a simple change but a great difference. I would definitely recommend them.
