Rated 5 out of 5 by from Leyland trade white emulsion Absolutely excellent trade paint. It has a higher pigment than other well known brands therefore it would cover almost any colour in one go. It leaves a very professional finish. I would definantly recommend this product.

Contract matt emulsion or vinyl mist coat?

We have a newly skimmed room which is dry and I want the vinyl paint as the top coat. Which is the best initial mist and undercoat? Surely contract matt is better than watered down vinyl?
Asked by: toteymuss
Hello toteymuss. Contract Matt is designed primarily for plaster has not fully dried - it is a highly breathable coating which always the plaster to dry out without affecting the coating. However, Contract matt has a very chalk like texture and is very absorbent in its own right. this means that more preparation is required when looking to over decorating with a vinyl Matt. you can use The Leyland Trade Vinyl Matt on Plaster if it is fully dry, just ensure you thin the 1st coat with 10% water and follow with 2 full coats. this is the product I would suggest you use in this situation. Thanks

i need to cover a strong red emulsion colour on my daughters bedroom walls before we move, is the Leyland trade matt vinyl emulsion the correct paint to use

Asked by: exbbman
Hello exbbman. This will be fine to overcoat. However please note reds are notoriously difficult to cover over, so additional coats of the Emulsion will be required in order to achieve sufficient opacity. Thanks

Is an undercoat required on bare plaster?

Asked by: TeaMaker
Hi TeaMaker If the plaster is nice and dry you can thin the first coat down with up to 10% clean water. This will be great for the first coat - no need for a special primer. Hope this helps.

wipe it

please can you tell me if you could wipe this paint, what does vinyl mean, thanks
Asked by: newit1
Hello. once fully cured this product would be considered as 'wipe able' Vinyl refers to the resins found within the paint to give it a certain degree of durability. if you need a paint with more durability - for example if you were painting a kitchen or bathroom - then I would recommend the use of Leyland Trade Acrylic Eggshell. This product is considerably more durable and would be considered a scrubbable product. Thanks

would this be okay to use on radiator pipes and wood in a toilet?

Asked by: isabella
Hello. Unfortunately I cannot recommend using this product on radiator pipes and woodwork. If you radiator is previously painted, I would recommend using Leyland Trade Acrylic Primer Undercoat, this can also be used on your woodwork. Thanks
