Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst paint ever Read all the reviews before I bought this product as I usually use oil based paints but need to get the job done quickly. Woodwork was already satin but still rubbed down for a key. Was called today by the customer to say the paint was pealing off so went round to find she was right and now I have pealed all the paint of and have to do the job all over again at extra cost to myself with proper oil based paint. Not happy at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good water based satin This is pretty good as far as water based trim paints go. You need to follow the usual techniques for working with water based to achieve a good finish (dampen surface first, use good synthetic brushes, lay it on generously, work quickly). A good tip is to add a drop of latex extender to make it flow out better and reduce brush marks. It dries to a nice satin finish and seems fairly durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Leyland Trade Satin An excellent water based satin paint. Have previously used oil based satin which gave a good finish but unfortunately yellows over time. Have tried another water based satin from another well known brand but that was twice the price ! Having now used this Leyland Trade Acrylic Satin I will be staying with it for future jobs. Excellent value and a good finish. Two coats on interior woodwork gives a nice clean finish. A word of warning - it is quick to dry so work fast to avoid excessive brush marks !

Which type of mini roller is best when painting a door?

Hi, I am using this paint after sanding and priming the wood first but I would like to know what is the best type of mini roller to use to get the best finish when paining a door. Thanks.
Asked by: Soyabean
Hello Soyabean. I would recommend either a good quality foam or mohair roller for this product. I'd suggest laying off after with a brush to remove any orange peel effect created by the roller. 2 coats will achieve a better finish when using a roller. Thanks

Will this paint yellow over time

Will this paint stay brilliant white and can I paint this over white gloss paint on skirting or do I need a undercoat,if so which undercoat would b best to use
Asked by: Katb
Hello Katb. With this product being water based it will not yellow - it contains non-yellowing resins which will retain their whiteness. it is advisable to use a water based undercoat with water based topcoats, as this promotes better adhesion and therefore better durability. I would suggest the Leyland Trade Acrylic Primer Undercoat for this. Apply 1 coat of the Primer Undercoat, once dry apply 2 coats of the Fast Drying Satin. Thanks

Does it leave a 'washable' surface?

Asked by: uniuser
Hi uniuser. the Leyland Trade Fast Drying Satin will dry to a washable finish. However it will need a minimum period of 7 days to fully 'cure'. This relates to the coating hardening and therefore being able to wash down without damaging the paint. Thanks

Can I Paint Directly On top Of Previously Painted Water Based Satinwood

My interior doors were previously painted with water based Satinwood. Can I pain directly over with this paint?
Asked by: Anonymous
Hello AndyKe. Provided the woodwork is in good condition and prepared thoroughly (cleaned and sanded) this should be fine. However I would always recommend the use of an undercoat, as a means of promoting the best adhesion for the Satin. I would recommend Leyland Trade Fast Drying Undercoat. Thanks
