Rated 4 out of 5 by from 6 months on. Used this on a fire damaged flat with wood washed down. Did the job, good coverage and no smell of smoke any longer. Six months on I am just repainting before moving in. The paint is now beginning to show slight signs of yellowing. but I would have expected that anyway from a solvent based paint. Overall, I am pleased with the product.

Hi there!

Sorry this isn't water based. The Quick Drying Gloss which can be used on trim is water-based if that helps.

Hi There!
Oil based or water based are both fine - Leyland Acrylic Primer Undercoat would do the job. It's quick drying, low odour and easy to use. You can use Oil or Water based paints over the top too.

Good luck with the doors!

Answer:
Hello Alexkx3. The Leyland Trade Satin is a 'self-undercoating' paint, so provided the woodwork is cleaned down and sanded this will be fine to apply. Thanks

Answer:
Hello. The Leyland Trade Satinwood is a topcoat and dries to a mid sheen finish. However, this product is known as being 'self-undercoating' and can therefore be applied to previously painted wooden substrates without the need for an undercoat. If painting new timber apply a suitable wood primer first, followed by 2 coats of Satinwood. Previously painted substrates ensure the surface is thoroughly sanded and cleaned, followed by 2 coats of Satinwood. Thanks

Hi
There is a range of Leyland Primers you can use for all sort of different surfaces, however if you've primed already it will be fine to paint over with Leyland Trade Satinwood.
