Is this any good for painting a garage door?

Asked by: Mlzy
If your garage door is either bare wood or metal, you would need to prime the surface with an appropriate primer. I would then recommend the use of the undercoat before apply the gloss If the garage door is previously paint and sound, I would recommend the use of the undercoat before applying the gloss.

I have prepared doors which were previously green with sanding and white spirit. I have put on two coats of Leyland white undercoat but can still see a shade of green through the undercoats. Would it be advisable to apply another (third) undercoat .

Asked by: therambler
Hello therambler. The Leyland Trade Gloss Paint is a high opacity paint, so I would advise applying your 1st coat. it must be noted however as you are undergoing a vast colour change, an additional coat of the gloss may still be required. Thanks

Asked by: terry1283
No, this is a solvent based product, washing of brushes has to be with white spirit.

does this paint go yellow soon after application ?

Asked by: blass
Hello. As this product is solvent based, over time the product will begin to yellow. however the speed and extent to which this product yellows is site specific so as such, I can not give a definitive time frame to which this paint begins to yellow. if you would like a non-yellowing alternative, I would recommend our Fast Drying Gloss. thanks

Still a strong smell of gloss

Used to paint a storage box back on the 12/12/16, however still a strong smell of gloss? what do you recommend
Asked by: Prodigy
Hello Prodigy. If the coating has fully dried then the only thing you can do is to make sure ventilation in the room is sufficient - keep windows and doors open if possible - until the smell has gone. Surface temperatures will ultimately affect the drying/curing time of a paint product, so it can take a number of weeks for the smell to fully dissipate. Thanks

Can this paint be used for painting exterior doors and windows of the house?

Asked by: LMcA
Hello LMcA. Yes this product is formulated for external use. if the wood is previously painted ensure you use an appropriate undercoat first. Bare wood should be coated with a primer, followed by a undercoat and the gloss. Thanks
