Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gloss So much easier to use than gloss and doesn't smell and the finish is brilliant if you give the wood a good undercoat.used Leyland paint for years and never been disappointed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice finish and easy to clean. I used the gloss oil based version before. This is much more easier to clean. It's not as thick as the oil based version, so on pre primed skirting I had to used two coats. It's got a nice white finish. Used it on the window sill, so with this version it will not yellow. I can already see yellow patches on the other non water based version when items are left on the upstairs sill and the sun hits it. Will always buy water based from now on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from rubbish this is the worst water based gloss paint I have ever used. looks like undercoat when applied and has no gloss to it what so ever even after 3 coats. avoid like the plaque

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VERY GOOD GLOSS I rubbed old glossed woodwork down well and applied this waterbased gloss. Covered well with one coat, good finish and adhered well to old surface. Do not expect a pro finish as when using oil based paint, but quick drying, no fumes and easy clean brushes. Gives woodwork a nice clean white freshen up.

Does it require sanding between coats?

Asked by: DDogg75
Hello DDogg75. A light sand will be sufficient between coats. Thanks

Is the finish high gloss or more of a mid sheen, and can it be applied on top of an oil based primer?

Asked by: Kev1nm
Hello Kev1nm. Due to the vast differences in the formulation between solvent based and water based acrylic paints, the Leyland Trade Fast Drying Gloss will have a sheen level that looks flatter when compared to a traditional solvent based gloss. This product will struggle to adhere properly to an oil based primer, you would need to use a suitable primer/undercoat. the Leyland Trade Acrylic Primer Undercoat is ideal for this. It is formulated to adhere to a prepared, previously painted oil based coating. Once you use this primer you can overcoat with the fast drying gloss. Thanks

Is it hard enough to resist knocks?

Will this resist marking or pealing? Unlike what I have read with other water based gloss that peal from the surface if knocked by the vacuume cleaner for example. What primer is best suited to stop the peeling ?
Asked by: Dwnotts
Hi Again Yes the paint is tough and durable but you do need to rub the existing paint finish down with sand paper and make sure its clean. The performance of the paint will be reduced if the surfaces are not prepared and will not stick as well - its all about the preparation!!

Will it stay white in a windowless basement

I've painted in Dulux gloss approximately 12 months ago and it has turned cream...... So I am looking for a suitable undercoat to cover this yellowing gloss in case it bleeds through and some reassuring that the layland gloss paint will then stay white.
Asked by: Dwnotts
Hello! This paint will stay Whiter as its based on Acrylic. You need to use the Undercoat first and then the top coat. Happy painting

Is it sprayable?

Can it be spray painted? Would we be able to get a good gloss finish?
Asked by: EveryDayDIYer
Hi No, this is not sprayable unfortunately - best results are achieved by brush applying the paint.
