Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely lights! These lights are a great feature to add to a kitchen. They are a lot brighter than under cupboard lights and are a lot easier to fix up (stick them on!... even I'm just about capable of that!). Would highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great under cabinet lights Just fitted under wall cabinets in newly installed kitchen. Produces the desired effect and very easy to install. Cut strip into two sections and soldered 12v power cable to cut section then back to first section. Delicate soldering required to thin cable/ strip but again easily done if you have a fine soldering iron. Works very well and all for a great price. New so reliability not confirmed but no reason to suspect any problems.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Have glue to hand We have two sets of these lights in our kitchen. They light up preparation surfaces better than the "fish eye" inset lights under cabinets do. The fish eye lights create limited pools of light with shadows between ie they are overly directional. The fairy lights are not only more practical, more discreet and more fun but also much cheaper. However, as other reviewers have said, this make doesn't always stick. After our kitchen had been installed I noticed that one of the chains of lights was hanging down. The installer had tried to keep it in situ with a piece of black tape. It didn't work. It also looked dreadful. So I got out the Superglue and now the lights are where they should be and looking as they ought to. But, the installer had thrown away the instructions when he left. So I am chary about the safety and efficacy of the connection between the string of lights and the electricity source. I simply tried to push the parts together. I reached that point after I had applied the glue so I didn't have any slack. These lights are cheaper than the ones the installer brought for us to have a look at. Perhaps due to the standard of glue used. But I think it is related to the number of lights. These are fractionally further apart. But the light that they put out is amazing. It is enough to work by. It is sufficient to read by. (One set is in the overhang from the worktops to the breakfast bar.) I don't like the fact the strings are so long - we had to throw away half of each. And a big plus for me of these lights is that they are LEDs ie they use very little power and contribute to my aim to lead a sustainable lifestyle. Throwing away half of each set undermines my efforts and sticks in my craw. If you could buy them in shorter lengths and the sticky factor could be upped, the lights would be a terrific buy. If either of those things were possible I'd up the star rating by one for each. I had to give a value for Reliability to be able to publish this review. However, we have used the lights only twice so far so I can't give a rating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So bright. I bought these to go around a mirror so I could see to do my hair. Only needed one line of lights to achieve brightness needed. I was very surprised at how bright they are. Very happy with them.

Can i wire this directly to a switched main? Ideally I am not looking to plug in but use via the wall switch for main lighting.

Answer:
Hello Anonymous,

This product must not be wired directly into the mains without the use of a transformer as it operates at a 12V supply (via a transformer).

Thank you for using Q&A.

Don't know the minimum, however we are using a 2m length under the bar at our club and that works well.
