LAP Fixed Round Mains Voltage Downlight Brushed Chrome 240V
Yes, it is definitely cheap
So the clue is in the price. If you are mounting these downlights into thin plasterboard then they will be fine, but any less giving material, then this product will warp as the material is so thin. The bulb is also held in place by a flimsy circlip which does not look good and does not hold the bulb tight, so any movement will have the bulb vibrating. I will personally be purchasing some other down lighters to fit.

Great value and fit
Bought these to install 12 in a kitchen, all fitted on 3 circuits with no problem at all in a 56mm hole. All tight and give a great light with led bulbs. Does exactly what was required at a good price too.

Good but weak springs
Replacing some non fire-rated white down-lights that had yellowed with the years. The basic brushed chrome down-light body is good quality. The connector block is small and 2 cables definitely 'iffy' unless you strip back the pvc outer grey and then tape up afterwards.
The springs are definitely of poor strength and as my existing hole sizes were larger (ie 70mm whilst 56mm recommended), the springs were even weaker as they rely on the edge of the hole to tension the spring. I had to remove the junction box from the spring (too much weight on one side) and then used the springs from my old down-lighters which were much stronger. Springs provided probably OK for 56mm holes with a single cable.
